OUR SERVICES – The design process

The Design Process
1. We visit your home. When we visit with you, we focus on listening. We take time to work through your needs, and we listen to your dreams. We aim to find your personal style. As far as we’re concerned, every piece of information you offer helps us to create the best result for you. In the end, our design will be tailor made for you and your family.

2. Back in our office we complete a preliminary design and specification. We strive to blend aesthetics with practicality and we take a whole of project approach so the result blends seamlessly into the rest of your living space.

3. At a mutually suitable time we meet with you at our office so that you can view a multimedia presentation of the draft design/s and we can discuss the design rationale and any changes you may require.

4. We then finalise the design and specification.

At this point you may choose to settle your account with us. We will provide you with two copies of the design and specifications which you are then free to use as you wish. Alternatively, you may wish to engage us to project manage your renovation to the level you require. Using a kitchen renovation as an example, our project management involvement may range from selecting and supervising the cabinetmaker only, to engaging all required trades, and sourcing all fixtures.

When we project manage your renovation, the costs for both the design and project management are covered by our margins on product and trades. This results in a finished project which is competitively priced to other organisations supplying a similar quality product. However, the advantage of using Design first as your designer/project manager, is our independence and freedom to put your requirements and interests ahead of a particular organisation’s manufacturing policies and product preferences. We are totally independent of all cabinetmakers and other suppliers. Our role in project management is to work for you the client to achieve the best possible outcome.
